INSIDE MY HEAD

A world so cruel

A screaming child, his hands worn out.

I pity that mother, who begs for shroud.

Still we lay in our dreams unscathed

and look for those painless whispers.

Shame that we cry for what couldn’t be ours

while an infant cries for his starving soul.

With an arrogant mind we turn our heads

And see a dream bloodied by them.

A world so lame, a world so cruel

Watch it burn in evils flame.

A world so good, a world so kind

has turned to this, the evil’s land.

Kind words are all we talk

but silently we kill all that means.

A knife so sharp, a wound so clean

and we poison it all within.

Still we pray for a peaceful world,

A world bereft of all that’s wrong.

Still we sing the song of peace

While we turn deaf to their screams.

A world so good, a world so kind

has turned to this, the evil’s land.

A world so lame, a world so cruel

Watch it burn in evil’s flame.
